“God always has our fruit bearing in mind.” This word of knowledge has come back to my mind and I continue to reflect upon it for strength in times of resistance in my own growth cycles. This is a profound reflection for me to build further upon and keeps me mindful of God’s divine design for fruit bearing.
Without the truth, everything passes through the filter of self: our needs or wants. Without truth as our filter, we cannot divide the kingdom of the flesh from the kingdom of God. What happens in times of conflict and challenge? When things don’t go our way, we may get upset and even blame God, so as a result, we try to control those circumstances the best way we know how but to no avail.
When a believer is not able to divide the kingdom of the flesh from the kingdom of God, circumstance are seen in the light of the fleshly kingdom and tend to carry an evil connotation. Losing a job, a house, having to relocate, wrong place at the wrong time etc.
When you’re in covenant however, the conflict of these circumstances takes on a different meaning because instead of everything orbiting around our pleasure, we’re focused on learning of God and bearing forth fruit. That’s the punch line. Circumstance is the catalyst God uses to reveal those things we take confidence in falsely.
James 1:9-10
9 Let the brother of low degree rejoice in that he is exalted:
10 But the rich, in that he is made low: because as the flower of the grass he shall pass away.
Some people lose everything that they have, which brings about a sobering reality. The rich that is made poor is not done to bring ruin but to break the pride of man and to show the temporariness of those things he put confidence in. This sets a pattern for seeking God for faith in Him which does not pass away.
The Divine Hand of God
Of course, a lot of people can associate with this breaking down of one’s pride and can appreciate why God would do that, but the other side of the coin, and as I mentioned earlier, the punch line is fruit bearing. God’s divine hand to create the fruit of Christ in the inner man requires a priesthood for our participation of faith.
As God works Christ in the inner man, He is addressing multiple areas where Satan distorted our thinking. And this is why God gave us the tool of truth as our filter so that we take on His mind as we labor with the anointing.
The shift (focus on fruit bearing) is an important one to make which God assist us daily with through the stewardship and priesthood of Jesus Christ. When the focus is on fruit bearing, unfavorable circumstances lose their power. As a matter of fact, they serve your faith, as God places them within your growth cycle. The circumstance no longer stands alone. It serves as the necessary resistance, giving us the opportunity to exercise our will with the things of Christ to gain His fruit.
Jesus is our example and pattern we follow: Revelation, Resistance, Reward. Before Jesus was led into the wilderness to be tempted of the devil, He had first experienced revelation when the voice of the Father confirmed Him,
Matthew 17:5
This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased; hear ye him.
Just as resistance follows revelation, so does God’s reward follow our obedience of faith, seeing that we accepted them as an opportunity for God to heal the soul (grace and faith) from the fruits of iniquity which yields the fruit of God.
Romans 11:33
O the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! how unsearchable are his judgments, and his ways past finding out!
James 4:15
For that ye ought to say, If the Lord will, we shall live, and do this, or that.
