Eric serves as a called and confirmed Chief Apostle in the restored government of God. He is the founder of s8w Ministries, and it is through his stewardship that God ushered in a new season of restoration for all believers who desire to walk in the fulness of Christ.  View my profile.

As God continues to address the religious wanderlust of ministers we see them coming forward to display their core values and personal beliefs as a sign that they are anchored to God in a true way.

The minister might point to his “godly beliefs” and “personal core values” that he has “grafted” into his soul and invite you to take them for your life, but these are the assignations (secret love affair) he has with his own moral code, they are not the true virtue of Christ. The Spirit points out that the minister is not loving God, but rather loving himself in place of God. God is exposing the secret love affair with the moral code.

We believers, who are in covenant with God, take Christ for our life. He is the true virtue and anchor for the soul. The moral code is the styrofoam anchor. So there is a contrast that comes forth from the true stewardship that your faith would not go adrift. By failing to distinguish the face of Christ from the moral code, the face of Christ is being disfigured.

  • Know this: The moral code, which promises life, is not a builder, but a destroyer.

Ministers want you to do as they do, that is, select the desired virtue to benefit your moral struggles, which is false regeneration. Don’t do it. This is an affront to God’s grace. God’s desire is to birth the virtues of Christ by the covenant.

A minister recently recommended to believers, “worship God with your questions.” On page 116 of my new book “The Apostolic Calling & Anointing” the Lord points out why this misguided attempt to connect with God fails: “They thought that truth would emerge from asking the right questions and debating possible positions, much like politicians do today in the government of man, whereas each champions his own position. But we must know that God’s government does not follow the same pattern.

“The way truth is reasoned from differing positions of logic seemed at first to be gratifying as each sharpened the sword of their principle upon the sword of the principle of his neighbor, but this sparing (principle against principle) comes with a heavy price tag. The principle of man does not build, it destroys as it seeks to rule in the place of grace and truth.”

Grace and truth are both the antecedent of the anointing. Grace and truth are two branches of the same tree. Paul, by the Spirit, is showing us the genealogy of Christ in the branches of the tree of His righteousness. All the elements of the gospel have their roots in Christ. The knowledge of Christ is anchored to Him. That’s why your faith must be of the roots of His knowledge to be of Him. Your faith must reflect His knowledge to receive His benefits.
