God Corrects the Church
The Line of God’s Anointed Stewards
Looking at the line of God’s anointed stewards, one thing stands out – God’s voice came through the steward. Moses was the voice of God to Pharaoh and the children of Israel, to lead them out of bondage, to establish a covenant with them by stewardship and priesthood.
God’s voice was heard through King David to announce a season of change from the temple of skins to the temple of stones that Solomon build. Solomon was given the pattern that God gave to David and he followed that blueprint.
We move next to the stewardship of Jesus, the Son of God and Savior of the world. He shed His blood to provide a new covenant in Himself. Jesus’ apostles were the voice of God to the people to establish them in His record. Jesus’ apostles were given the new blueprint and pattern of truth the people were to receive to build faith in His image.
The restoration of apostles to the church follows on the heels of independent stewardship who led the church away from Christ. These unsanctified stewards established independent ministries and offered themselves as the voice and steward of God.
Independent Stewardship Leads the Church into Era of Darkness
Through the stewardship of independent ministries, the church abandons true apostolic stewardship and forgets the new covenant. Many Christian denominations arise. False stewards plunge the church into an era of darkness.
This same spirit continued to manifest through independent ministries. Each seeking to right the wrongs they see, yet lacking the anointing that God places upon His stewards. This is the key to the problem.
Lacking the true anointing of truth, independent ministers try to establish the authority of God in a set of events where they believe they witnessed God manifesting Himself. If we are to assume that miracles, multitudes, and money can restore the church, how do we explain that each manifestation of the 3Ms failed to unite believers in one truth and restore them to the covenant of Jesus Christ?
God is pointing out the failings of independent ministries, yet they continue to believe that the church can be restored if they can only recreate events (miracles, multitudes, and money). We see that happening right now as ministers are heard to call to believers to join them at spurious and carnal revival meetings, celebrations of Pentecost, and in some place, trying to revitalize the laughter movement. These are the things that God hates.
