Apostle Eric vonAnderseck
Eric serves as a called and confirmed Chief Apostle in the restored government of God. He is the founder of s8w Ministries, and it is through his stewardship that God ushered in a new season of restoration for all believers who desire to walk in the fulness of Christ. View my profile.
God is addressing the habit of false ministers to establish a legacy and authority through their history rather than the record of Christ. As ministers point to a litany of failed prophecy by leadership in the 1970s, 80s, and 90s, who proclaimed that God’s work is in miracles, multitudes, and money (3Ms of spiritual flattery), they neglected to point believers to the narrow way of covenant faith and failed to join the stewardship to the priesthood.
Let us be clear. Although God can and does work miracles, the work of God to establish His kingdom is not in miracles, multitudes, and money. God’s work is in the covenant of Jesus Christ, where He placed His promise of redemption, contact, relationship, and eternal inheritance.
As ministers again muster up the courage to prophesy in the voice of spiritual flattery, they’re not seeing the trail of broken promises. Instead they point to the unbroken, stubborn tradition of man as a sign of God’s consistency and say, Look, all these independent voices cannot be wrong. All these voices have been promising miracles, multitudes, and money, and we just have to hold out a little longer and we’ll see this really, really happen this time.
We’ll pray harder, we’ll pray longer, we’ll pray united, we’ll fast, we’ll rebuke the devil. But this is a repeat of the errors of the former generation. This is substitutionism—to approach God on your own terms to take from Him what you think you need. You’re wanting to design a platform that accommodates your aspiration.
You cannot put your aspiration into the altar of Christ. God has rejected that stone. The true stones of the altar reflect His image, not man’s.
A Multitude of Voices Prophesying Spiritual Flattery
All these independent voices prophesying spiritual flattery is not the narrow way, it is the broad way. These voices are likes ships passing in the night. It was romantic. You felt your faith come alive as each leader prophesied the principles you’ve chosen to govern in place of Christ. Each light dazzled by the other.
Everyone wants their light to shine and to call that light “revelation” and to say that they heard from God. And while it is true that God does in fact speak to each individual believer daily about their spiritual growth, He speaks to His selected steward to give direction to the Body to know how faith functions and how restoration is to take place.
This true light is the one light of Jesus Christ and all true prophets confirm that light. The devil hopes to obscure the light of Christ by dazzling you with many independent lights. But a thousand candles flickering in the night cannot compare to the light of the sun.
The Ruse of the Night
Counterfeit leadership and ministries hope to use prayer to justify the path of independence they have chosen, saying, We’ll band together in prayer to see what the Lord will do. He will not deny us if He sees that we are unified in prayer. Prayer is being used as a delay tactic, which God calls rebellion. Prayer is not is not to be used to confirm one’s independence.
The Spirit speaks expressly that though you are all speaking by the spirit of religious flattery to confirm the aspiration, this does not mean you are speaking by the voice of God.
Always remember: The devil deceives by using hopeful language, as if what he confesses through false ministers is a present reality.
In the restored Body of Christ that has emerged and is fully functioning, God does indeed speak through each vessel. Words of knowledge, prophecy, words of wisdom, dreams, and vision are shared daily in and out of the assembly of the righteous.
The miracle is that the voice of God that is heard in each vessel is united in truth and charity. There is a bond in the anointing when the foundation of truth is properly set in each heart. The work of the Spirit in each individual is therefore reflected corporately in the Body. Namely:
