Eric serves as a called and confirmed Chief Apostle in the restored government of God. He is the founder of s8w Ministries, and it is through his stewardship that God ushered in a new season of restoration for all believers who desire to walk in the fulness of Christ.  View my profile.

We might laugh at the little boy whose looking over the shoulder of his classmate to copy her work during a test, but it’s not so cute when adults do it. God ministered to me a word of knowledge about this many years ago, warning that during the new apostolic season that the counterfeit would manifest to try to fill the shoes of the apostolic calling, without His grace or anointing.

The word the Lord used is very unique and I want to share it with you. He didn’t use the word cheat, or purloin, which are equally important, but rather, He used the word “interlope”. So, what does the interloper do? You can google this definition: “a person who becomes involved in a place or situation where they are not wanted or are considered not to belong.”

synonyms: intruder, encroacher, trespasser, invader, infiltrator; uninvited guest; outsider, stranger, alien; informal: gatecrasher, buttinsky

These words describe the current trend in the Body of Christ today to counterfeit the apostolic calling. As the leadership in the current Christian culture saw that they could no longer ignore God’s announcement that He had restored the church to the apostolic calling and anointing they began to look at what the true steward of God’s house was doing, and as an outsider and stranger to the covenant of Christ, they intruded into the calling without the grace of God, trying to copy the calling.

This piracy upon the high seas of the anointing can easily be spotted. As leaders such as C. Peter Wagner, Catherine Brown, Dutch Sheets, Sharon Stone, Cindy Jacobs, Rick Joyner, Lee Grady, Ken Malone have come forward to acknowledge the new apostolic season they have each fallen into this nefarious counterfeit category.

You can see it in 2 claims shared:

  • The claim that the apostolic season is a “great move of God coming”.

  • The claim that the Lord “wants to ensure we have our foundation and houses ready for this”.

The first claim is the voice of the interloper into the apostolic calling. He’s trying to foresee a movement of God that he has already missed and trying to extrapolate from scripture a voice of authority.

The second claim is also the voice of the interloper into the apostolic calling and is equality naked in his presumption to hold the candle of the Lord to lead the church into the apostolic era.

Jesus is all about foundation building. The purpose of Him having released apostles into the church in the first place was to establish, teach, instruct, and oversee the building of the foundation of truth within each heart. So, when a minister admonishes that we “ensure we have our foundation and houses ready” he again is not speaking from a place of authority with the anointing.

He is lacking in the apostolic grace and anointing, he hasn’t partaken of the grace of the apostle and so his foundation is in question. He has to ensure that his foundation is strong. He has no frame of reference other than to quote a scripture (Eph.2:20), and no experience with the current of God’s grace and so God’s promise is put into a future expectation to hook believers with the pretense of promise.

Those who are already in the apostolic era have already allowed for this instruction to take place as the Lord raised up the steward of His house to rebuild the foundation of truth according to Jesus Christ and not the tradition of man. So then, this work, having already been accomplished by God, ministers are pointing believers in the wrong direction, asking them to ensure they have a firm foundation.

This language is folderol—nonsensical talk about a calling about which a person has no understanding and thus heard repeating phrases that don’t make sense in the scheme of the transition that has already taken place.

You’ll find that just as the masses can get caught up in a little ditty about failed romances and broken hearts, many believers will relate to the folderol of counterfeit apostles as they try to fake their way into the calling.

You might have also caught the plural usage of the word “houses”. The failed leadership of the false religious system advocates that there is more than one house, whereas Jesus advocates through the true apostolic that there is only one house – HIS.

The house of Jesus Christ is His covenant. The interlopers won’t be ready, their houses will be as that of Adonijah.

The Adonijah Apostleship: The Trespasser

There is conflict in the house of God between the Adonijah apostleship and God’s true apostles. The Adonijah apostles are the trespassers into the calling—the uninvited guest. Like a wedding crasher, they pretend that they belong, intermingling with the guests, pretending to be a part of the family of God, but they’re only there to score.

They are encroaching into the calling by copying what they see the true apostolic doing. The Lord foresaw this deception and in 1999 said, “I will judge the interlopers.”

An interloper is just like Adonijah, the son of king David, observing the coming season wherein the crown of leadership would pass from David. He saw an opportunity to insert himself into the role and announced himself king in the place of Solomon whom God had called.

He’s hopeful, but his desire to step into the shoes of his father was not born of faith, but rather the need to remain the voice of authority in a house that did not belong to him.

1 Kings 1:5
Then Adonijah the son of Haggith exalted himself, saying, I will be king: and he prepared him chariots and horsemen, and fifty men to run before him.

The Adonijah apostleship today is following the same destructive pattern. While God is showing leadership His hope for them to transition into the restored covenant of Jesus Christ, they’ve got chilled going down their spine imagining their religious aspiration coming to fruition.

The Apostolic Crown

The apostolic crown is that of knowledge of the covenant of Jesus Christ that God has restored to the church in the anointing of His grace. The apostles are stewards of God’s grace.

1 Corinthians 3:10
According to the grace of God which is given unto me, as a wise masterbuilder, I have laid the foundation, and another buildeth thereon. But let every man take heed how he buildeth thereupon.

God bestowed a measure of grace upon the apostle to make known the mysteries of Christ, which is the doctrine of Christ, which is the terms of the new covenant purchased by His blood, which is the foundation of truth the apostles lay in your heart. Now your mind is also crowned with His knowledge. The operation of God in the apostolic calling follows this flow of the Spirit.

The apostle represents Jesus in the government of His kingdom and thus carries the authority of His throne, which must be submitted to.
