Prophet Jonathan
Jonathan serves as a called and confirmed Prophet in the restored government of God, and he is an IDCCST Spiritual Life Coach. Prophet Jonathan shows you why separation and cleansing are necessary to prepare you to function in your new priesthood. View my profile.
As many of you know, God reshaped the thinking of the church about the prophet’s calling and what He had intended the prophets to do. Sometimes people challenge me about what a prophet is supposed to do in the church today.
Let’s dig into the role of a prophet and then I want to share a divine dream where God lays out His plan. First of all, a prophet today follows the same pattern as the prophets of old, they are called to confirm the present covenant and stewardship God set in place.
The old testament prophets confirmed the covenant of Moses and continually brought the people back to their responsibilities to the covenant. God’s prophets were sent to show the people how to get back to their covenant roots when they strayed. This was God’s mind toward them for good.
God does not change. God’s prophets today do the same thing, only we no longer lead the people to the old covenant of Moses, but to the new covenant of Jesus Christ, the Son of God. The foundation of this new covenant knowledge is given to the people by the apostles and confirmed by the prophets. This is God’s mind toward us for good.
Ephesians 2:20
And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone;
The apostles and prophets work hand-in-hand. The foundation of truth is that unchangeable record God placed in Jesus as a pattern for our faith to follow. Without this blueprint of truth, our faith would follow the truths of our own nature. So, apostles build the foundation of truth in the heart.
God speaks in many dreams and visions through His prophets to confirm our separation to His apostolic stewardship, and to confirm the priesthood and His power gifts for your spiritual growth. I’m going to share a divine dream that God gave me to confirm the return of the church to God’s power.
Divine Dream
In this new apostolic season, God has turned the tide and change is upon the church. Many have been crying out to God, hungering for His power, knowing that only God can complete them.
No one doubts that spiritual hunger can only be satisfied by God, but there are many barriers in the way to building connections with God for spiritual growth. There are many who stand in the way. The gospel they preach favors the tradition of man and the Jesus they preach is a Jesus of their own making.
I received a divine dream September 8, 2024 in which God confirmed that His empowerment is through the covenant of Jesus Christ and all those who enter into this way receive His power gifts.
In this dream I was part of a graduating class, and on the last day each student was given a clear plastic package that held a 9v rechargeable battery and two D rechargeable batteries.
If you can picture a circle with the D batteries positioned, one on the right and the other on the left, and the 9v battery in the middle. This illustrates how God designed our faith to be empowered and completed in Him.
DREAM SYMBOLISM
Let’s take this symbolism to the covenant of Jesus Christ to see how God enriches our understanding about the true gospel of regeneration and the divine connections to His power that is made available for all.
You might think that you already believe in the power of God and the gifts; you already speak in tongues and believe in prophetic ministry; you believe in God encounters, and therefore you believe that you’re on the right path. It could feel like we’re going over old ground.
But God has been pointing out to ministers that when they fail to join their faith to Jesus’ covenant stewardship, they fail to restrict their faith to Jesus and include many things from the old covenant, like blowing the shofar. They also include many things from their own nature, like their moral code.
Desiring to honor God with the inventions of their own mind, a hybrid version of faith emerges of parts that do not coexist.
Did you know: When you sever the gift or the calling from the covenant, it is severed from God and seducing spirits work with them to confirm the heart of man. That’s a sobering lesson for the church to learn.
God’s true prophets point to Jesus’ covenant and stewardship to teach discernment.
The 9v Battery
In my dream, the 9v battery represents the 9 tools of Jesus’ covenant as the source of power that sustains our reflections throughout the day as we build with God. We know God and He knows us through His constant supply of grace as we utilize His divine tools. The battery is effectual, but it must be connected back to the charger for resupply.
Our faith is also effectual, but must remain tethered to God as our source of power. Looking at the EVA Tool Kit we see the 9 spiritual tools listed and how they work in God’s new covenant. God sprinkled these tools with the blood of Jesus for our contact with Him to result in the creation of the fruit of His likeness in us.
The time we set aside in separation from the world praying in the Spirit, studying the doctrine of Christ, and reciprocating to God in our priesthood to steward the grace of God (and thus feed the body of Christ) is critical for our increase in fruit as we prepare our hearts to receive more grace.
We learn that Jesus’ tools are purposeful. We are working with God’s way to supply grace, and our faith is fed and increased (recharged) to stand fast in our true hope.
The Two D Batteries
What is the symbolism of the two D batteries in my dream? Two D batteries combined carry 3 volts (government, truth, and Spirit). The way I saw it was packaged in my dream, the D batteries were positioned one on the right and the other on the left, and the 9v battery in the middle.
The D batteries point to the stewardship and priesthood of Jesus’ covenant. These are the two pillars of our faith. The knowledge (apostolic stewardship) and the power (priesthood of each believer). By this divine design God shows us the bonding perception of the anointing as He creates in us what He is.
- Grace is placed within that bonding perception.
- Faith is placed within that bonding perception.
- Righteousness is placed within that bonding perception.
- Justification is placed within that bonding perception.
- Sanctification is placed within that bonding perception.
- Holiness is placed within that bonding perception.
- Peace is placed within that bonding perception.
- Rest is placed within that bonding perception.
- Charity is placed within that bonding perception.
- Truth is placed within that bonding perception.
- Regeneration is placed within that bonding perception.
- The Renewing of the Mind is placed within that bonding perception.
These 12 elements of the gospel can’t be described without the knowledge steward (the apostle) and cannot be experienced without God’s power (in our priesthood). The Holy Spirit as the living witness of Christ will only empower the knowledge if it reflects Christ and not self.
The Apostolic Key
It is no secret that all the elements of the gospel hold an attraction to the heart of man. Everyone wants to try them on.
People want to study about these things of God that hold so much promise, and they try to draw from scripture a key for their understanding. What is grace? What is faith? What is justification? What is holiness? But neglecting God’s apostolic stewardship as God’s key, they draw meaning from their own nature.
For example, sermons about holiness that are not sourced from God’s knowledge steward are sourced from one’s own nature (the moral code). Drawing from scripture to describe one’s own heart to show how God’s holiness is not about tyranny, but rather a beautiful thing, doesn’t change the source.
A minister is simply using his own moral code to contrast what he feels inside. This is not true holiness. It shows a heart that is separated from God, not a heart that is joined to Him. That’s the challenge God is setting before the church, as this hybrid faith is a contradiction to Him.
The ruling powers of the flesh cannot be subdued by the moral code, as the heart of man only labors to justify self. We labor with the sanctified knowledge to set truth as a crown upon the mind in the justification of Christ.
Apostolic stewardship and the priesthood of the new covenant is God’s divine pattern for our increase as faith is tethered to God through the threefold cord of government, truth, and Spirit. All the elements of the gospel are ruling powers God placed in Jesus to rest in Him. We labor with His knowledge to enter into His rest. (Heb. 4:10-11)
To our natural understanding, when a battery isn’t fully charged the device doesn’t operate at its full capacity. To our covenant understanding, keeping our faith active with Jesus’ tools, we receive the fulness of God’s true promise in Jesus. Walking in the Spirit we are led by the Spirit, and as God daily circumcises our heart, the fleshly nature of man ceases to hunger for Satan’s false promise. (Rom. 2:29)
In the absence of obedience to what God has prepared through government, truth, and Spirit, faith takes a direction that is meaningful to self by its service to honor the aspiration, imagination, and principle.
Are You a Good Steward of God’s Grace?
Everyone in covenant is part of that graduating class I saw in my dream. We have all been given those spiritual tools to care for them as a good steward of the grace of God. We are also good stewards of the soul that God has placed in our care. We steward the grace of God to return to God with the fruit that glorifies Him.
1 Peter 4:10
As every man hath received the gift, even so minister the same one to another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God.
You can learn more about how to transition to Jesus’ covenant and how to become a functioning part of the body of Christ. You too can daily steward the manifold grace of God as you partake His power by resourcing the knowledge entrusted to Jesus’ apostolic stewardship.
