In a recent dream the Lord used the following dream symbolism to show the effectual working of the Holy Spirit within the soul to bring healing as we walk with Him, by being joined to Him through covenant. In the dream, I looked down at my arms stretched out before me, and saw that many tattoos which had been on there before in the dream had now been removed. I rejoiced in seeing my arms restored to its original ink-free condition. End of dream.

Before unfolding the dream, let’s look at the meaning of “tattoo” according to Wikipedia:

“A tattoo is a form of body modification made by inserting tattoo ink, dyes, and/or pigments, either indelible or temporary, into the dermis layer of the skin to form a design.”

The word “body modification” in this description was highlighted by the Lord as a parallel to the marring, or altering of the soul experienced by the effects of sin and death. The dream symbolized God’s provision in Jesus Christ for the healing and restoration of such “soul modifications” in considering the transformation of the soul from darkness to light through the process of regeneration, which is effected through the due order of our faith’s obedience to His new covenant commandments.

The Fruit of Sin is Satan’s Mark on the Soul

Before our conversion to covenant, the soul was (through Satan’s sowing) exposed to the knowledge of this world, which we labored with in ignorance; but as such knowledge is false and corrupt (not in agreement with God’s kingdom) it caused great harm to the soul and left scarring in the form of fruits of iniquity within.

This labor with a corrupted form of knowledge (which is contrary to the soul’s original design) led to the corruption of the soul as the fruit of sin attached itself to the soul and marred the signature of man (like a boat made to steer off course by barnacles on the hull). What is birthed in the soul is reflected in the mind, and this is why the fruits of iniquity affect the perspective of the natural man, which leads to thinking patterns that revolve around building for self and a never ending search for the resolve of life’s circumstances.

This crooked perspective is anti-Christ and is therefore in need of correction and restoration by the power of the Holy Spirit. God’s desire is not that we spend our time laboring to find resolve to life’s issues, but that we take on the mind of Christ whereby to walk in agreement with Him.

1 Corinthians 2:16
For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? But we have the mind of Christ.

God Removes the Stain of Sin from the Soul as We Keep Covenant

The distorted and crooked perspectives of the natural man can be likened to a form of etching (of false knowledge) in the mind which left a mark on the soul (like a tattoo) which now needs to be removed, as God’s desire is that our souls return to a state of beauty, purity and innocence.

When we look at tattoo removal in the natural, it is a painful and sometimes tedious process to have the unwanted ink removed. This is often accomplished with a laser which breaks down the ink particles in the skin.

Similarly, there is a due order which God set within our Christian growth cycle, whereby He is able to remove the marks of Satan’s sowing. Just as physical body modification needs specialized equipment and expertise to remove, so too with the marks of iniquity within the soul; it is only God that can bring healing and restoration within, which He does when we consent in the moment of challenge through faith’s labor with the holy knowledge and tools of Jesus’ covenant. We choose to lay down our former history to embrace the knowledge of Jesus Christ, allowing it to influence us.

If you have not been introduced to the technologies of today, one might think that it is impossible to have a tattoo removed. Similarly, millions of Christians, not having been instructed in the knowledge and function of Jesus’ new covenant and priesthood, continue to struggle against sin, because they don’t experience the victory and overcoming the Bible speaks about.

His Knowledge Equips Us

Hosea 4:6
My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children.

The prophet Hosea warned that God’s people suffer as a result of a lack of knowledge. Today, many Christians are confused about why they remain stuck in the loop of sin and death, but it is because they lack the foundation knowledge of Jesus’ covenant which Jesus taught His apostles, and they in turn instructed believers in. For this purpose God restored His spiritual government, which He has equipped and prepared, to inform those seeking, of the restored gospel of Jesus Christ, and for His living apostles to lay that proper foundation within their hearts.

The fruit of iniquity can and must be removed from the soul. There IS victory and overcoming over self, Satan and the world, but even as with tattoo removal, there is a process the soul needs to go through in order to experience the healing and removal of the fruit of iniquity.

Titus 3:5
Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;

In the natural one can’t remove a tattoo with soap or with lotions etc, we have to follow the due process of having it removed which is with the laser for example. Spiritually, it is the same with God’s kingdom and therefore God has restored the priesthood of Jesus Christ through which we learn of Him, and participate in the process the soul needs to follow for healing and restoration.

The Joy We Experience in Christ

God issues His grace for the feeding of faith every day, when we remain tethered to Him through the covenant of Jesus Christ. We rejoice in this living contact for active building and bonding with God which is according to His covenant terms. When we dine at the table of the Lord and feast on His truth, daily studying the restored apostle’s doctrine and praying in tongues, He continues to wash and cleanse us.

There is joy unspeakable experienced as believers who once fell short of His fullness transition to the covenant of Jesus Christ. As part of our IDCCST Course, you not only learn who God is and who you are in Him, but you are instructed in the foundation of truth, which equips you to identify Satan’s wiles, that you may overcome them, and become an active participant in God’s divine transformation.

This is the true adoption of faith, whereby we are no longer slaves to the kingdom of darkness, but citizens of heaven. By engaging with the Lord in cycles of growth, our souls take on the beauty of Christ’s perfection as we bear forth His righteous fruit even as the Spirit removes the former stains of iniquity that our souls might reflect the Lord in knowledge, fruit and virtue.
