A song was ministered to me for fruitful building with the anointing, “Tiptoe Through the Tulips”. Of course, I immediately thought of the song that was made famous by Tiny Tim, but found out that it was originally played by Nick Lucas and was quite lovely and a lot different than the Tiny Tim version, which is really harsh to listen to because his singing style is distorted.

I looked at the meaning of the song and my online search result stated that, “the song is a plea to meet in a garden of tulips to steal away for a kiss in the moonlight… the tulip represents love and passion. The meaning of tulips is “perfect love.”

Taken to covenant, God’s perfect love is Jesus Christ and a “plea to meet in a garden of tulips to steal away for a kiss in the moonlight” represents the priesthood and God’s call (or kiss) to us daily by His grace that draws us to labor with Him. To “kiss in the moonlight” is also edifying because the moon represents stewardship. In the book of the Patriarchs Judah prophetically grasped hold of the moon and Levi grasped hold of the sun.

God prophesied that kings came from Judah and that came to pass and that the priesthood would come through Levi and that also came to pass. And as these are both types and shadows of Jesus Christ, the apostolic stewardship is represented in the moon (Judah) and the Christian priesthood is represented in the sun (Levi). To kiss in the moonlight or in the light of the moon shows how God joined the stewardship and priesthood together.

You can read more about the reality of God joining the stewardship and priesthood together from the Restored Series on our s8w.org website.

The light of the knowledge of Christ which we receive from apostolic stewardship is the foundation we draw from to labor with the anointing. Each day God calls us forth to labor with Him, even as Apostle Paul said in Ephesians.

Ephesians 4:20-21
20 But ye have not so learned Christ;

21 If so be that ye have heard him, and have been taught by him, as the truth is in Jesus.

God Teaches by Contrast

Now we’ll break open the contrast and talk about why that’s important. I’ve been reflecting on a spiritual sacrifice from Apostle Eric, “The wicked kiss the idols of the world daily to bless their aspiration provoking God which crowns them with derision.”

In the beginning of this article, I said that Nick Lucas sang the original version of “Tiptoe Through The Tulips” in a very beautiful voice. Forty years later Tiny Tim sang the same song, but with an eerie twist. Some say that the way he sang the song, he turned it into a carnival side-show.

This brings to mind how Satan takes God’s covenant and makes a side-show out of Jesus’ perfect love. The kiss of charity through stewardship and priesthood is distorted. One of these side-shows has to do with the false prophetic movement. Each person who is involved with making prophetic utterances and declarations say that they believe in God’s perfect love, they talk about it and even quote scripture about it, but prophecy is a distortion of God’s original plan. It’s not God’s perfect love. And as they bless themselves in their aspiration, it’s the kiss of idols.

Satan tries to emulate truth just as Tiny Tim tried to emulate Nick Lucas. Satan uses the same words, like grace, faith, truth, holiness, but gives them a different direction. By subtlety changing the knowledge he changes the environment and meaning which produces the fruit of another kingdom.

It’s interesting to note that Tiny Tim’s version of the song was featured in a horror film called “Insidious”. The song is played over and over again throughout the movie to represent the presence of a demon.

I want to look at the word “insidious” because it describes the subtle influence that is present when Satan takes ownership of the knowledge of God. When scriptures are quoted out of context of the covenant, Satan is working a distortion.

The definition of insidious is: “having a gradual and cumulative effect. Example given: the insidious pressures of modern life. Also said of a disease; developing so gradually as to be well established before becoming apparent. Also, awaiting a chance to entrap; treacherous; harmful but enticing. Example given: seductive insidious drugs.

All these things describe Satan’s tactics perfectly. Rather than an all-out assault he stays hidden in the imagination to subtly inflame the emotions and redirect the will to self.

Satan keeps man on many vain pursuits and rabbit trials to keep him focused on the flesh which is his kiss of death to defile the conscience. We remove our foot from this snare and choose rather to build and bond with faith as God corrects our thinking patterns through regeneration and renewing of the mind.

We guard our conscience from the sting of death. We weigh the value of the knowledge being presented to us and choose what to draw from for building. The righteous choose faith.

I am reminded how the Lord is constantly showing us that His promise of life is greater than anything we could imagine for ourselves. And we with joy embrace Him and receive each kiss of the anointing.
