We learned to talk about the negative aspects we saw in pride and what followed was a counter to pride, which we thought we found in humility. But we did not overcome pride, envy, or jealousy, we simply learned to exchange thoughts of pride for thoughts of humility, which is a change of thought, not a change in nature.

We did not understand the faceless, nameless powers behind these fruits of iniquity: the aspiration, principle, and imagination which were still hard at work, and that’s what God is addressing for healing.
