A saint was sharing with me that the Lord was addressing for healing Satan’s suggestion to her that her logic was the key for sound reasoning.
It was great to see the Lord unlock her understanding as we worked at linking her logic to the inclination of the natural man to establish independence from God. We took some time to reflect on how independence can be discerned.
You will notice that your logic and imagination are connected. One’s logic assumes the imagination has the power of life – is life giving. This is why the logic strings together facts that are supported by the imagination to thus work out various scenarios in the mind to see how well one’s peace and security are affirmed. You can see that in how lack is perceived and assessed, how loss is perceived and assessed, and how perception of self is assembled.
While God’s peace is part of the machinery of His kingdom (He issues peace to assist the soul in the transitional phases of your growth cycle), the peace of this world is taken by force to serve self (to feed the hunger of the God-Code of the soul).
Matthew 11:12,
“And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffereth violence, and the violent take it by force.”
The fact is, the imagination does not possess the power of life. God left a testimony of this quite clearly in death. One who does not have power over death also does not have the power of life.
Every person who dies whether by illness, accident, over dose of drugs, suicide, in battle, or old age – none gave themselves life in the moment of death. None are able to resuscitate their body or call back their soul, and none have the power to give substance to their soul desired by God to be received of Him.
Jesus said,“Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me. And ye will not come to me, that ye might have life.” (John 5:39-40)
The Power of God’s Life Manifested
God alone has the power of life , which He gives freely in the form of grace and truth, which we freely labor with to join our soul to Him in obedience of faith. In submission to grace we do experience God’s healing of our soul, for which we are thankful and content in His mercy, testifying of Christ in each experience we gain reasoning with grace.
The aim of one’s logic is to escape the need of God (dependence upon His grace and the anointing to sustain life), so the mind turns to the imagination for the power of life, to give life to one’s principle, to create one’s own peace and security and then to guard it against each suggestion of lack or loss. This is where fear, pride, and suspicion are bred. These emotions and mindsets are groomed by the spirit of this world as the watch dog of the soul.
When the imagination rules the mind, the mind is convinced that the peace of this world is life. The habit of the young saints to learn peace by the imagination and this works against them. The habit is to then wait until their peace is violated and the imagination crumbles before turning to God.
God Will Reward Your Faith With More Tokens
The good habits of faith is that which the elders are grooming in the little children, those who are young in the Lord. Your habits are in the process of being formed. That is, to serve God at the altar of Christ, to prepare your hearts in faith for fruit bearing. The soul that is full of grace and full of faith is also full of fruit. God sustains His work in the soul by His own power. You can testify of this as each day you receive new tokens from Him. God’s waiting to see what you’re going to do with them, how you’ll use them to build His kingdom. God will reward your with more tokens from His throne.
You’re not only learning what the tools of the new covenant are, but how to use them for fruit bearing. You’re learning that you need to make a plan to organize your day to set Jesus’ sanctified tools into motion by using them.
You will learn by experience that it is in sowing the grace of God that you labored with, that your strength increases. Your strength increases as grace increases.
2 Peter 3:18,
“But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and forever. Amen.”
You will learn that although you have a strong impulse to judge by the sight of your own eyes (the imagination working with logic to engineer the peace of this world for confidence), faith makes a new choice, not to judge (weigh desire, need, and loss upon the scale of the flesh) until the Lord come in the discernment of the anointing.
As you allow Jesus to be your eyes, He is your judge, sitting at the gate of your conscience to justify the tools of His covenant as you use them. That’s when you experience His liberty. You are free to express Him rather than yourself.
1 Corinthians 4:5,
“Therefore judge nothing before the time, until the Lord come, who both will bring to light the hidden things of darkness, and will make manifest the counsels of the hearts: and then shall every man have praise of God.”
The Defiled Conscience Makes an Appeal to Heaven
On the other hand, when the imagination rules the mind, you’re making deals with your conscience to settle your conscience in a false rest, saying, for example:
- I’ll feel better about this when this or that takes place.
- I know that with God on my side I will always win.
- If I lay myself bare before the Lord, He will see how broken I am and I can make my appeal to heaven.
You can see how strong that impulse is for the natural man, to empty himself of the defiled fruits of iniquity by confession, to imagine giving this to the Lord in prayer, and imagine God reciprocating by releasing the power one covets to change the circumstances of your life, the world, and your nation.
The problem is that the defiled conscience is trying to purge itself of guilt. We see that taking place big time in the false religious system where ministers actually think they are doing God a service by leading believers onto this battlefield of the flesh. And you’ll see it your own growth cycle, where God challenges these habits of the natural man to approach God on the level of the flesh, hoping to trade up a defiled conscience for a pure conscience. You’re overcoming this temptation.
Luke 4:18, “The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised.”
This healing of your soul takes place when you have entered into covenant with God, using the spiritual tools of Christ to express Him.
