I recently read a slogan that gave me pause. The minister wrote, “God doesn’t respond to our need. He responds to our faith.” The minister was trying to climb on board with God’s mandate for change in this new apostolic age. Faith in the false religious system has a way of starting off with the problems of life (adverse circumstances needing to be resolved, doubts and fears needing to be conquered), and is thus driven by the natural man.

So the slogan is meant to address this discrepancy, but in that the minister’s faith is not joined to Jesus’ covenant, nothing has changed. Faith is still directed by the needs of the flesh, he just doesn’t know it. His perception about faith has not changed because his thinking has not changed to line up with God’s new covenant (Deut. 7:9), and that means he hasn’t aligned his faith to Jesus Christ.

That which we receive from the throne of God continues on perpetually, but that which the nature of man carries is temporal. Our faith is meant to be perpetual and that’s why the Lord placed restrictions upon His covenant. He wants to take pleasure in our faith. Faith bears the marks of eternity, which is Christ.

Christ provided Himself for us as a token of substance. These are the tokens of His rest. We are complete by that which Christ provides in His covenant. You have to have these tokens in order to relate to God.

Let’s learn some more important distinctions from the throne of God. I’m going to quote a few paragraphs from chapter eleven of The Apostolic Calling & Anointin

“As I said, what begins with the flesh ends with the flesh. Your aspiration never goes beyond itself. Your aspiration sees in scripture that which it desires and will declare its desires as the will and power of God. So when beginning with the aspiration it is the aspiration that is searching the scriptures for its mate, it’s searching the scriptures to see how it can take from God for its own increase. The aspiration sees in scripture a mirror image of its desire, the principle sees the principle, and the imagination sees the imagination. You believe you are seeing eye to eye with God when in reality you’re using scripture to harmonize with yourself.

We operate from a divine design. Your natural man operates from a divine design, and your faith operates from a divine design. This is what your signature is, and this is what your signature does. This is what your moral code is, and this is what your moral code does. This is what your God-Code is, and this is what your God-Code does. This is what your faith is, and this is what your faith does. God makes a distinction between the natural and the spiritual because He will never use your natural design as building material for faith. . .

This way of starting faith off with the problems of life (adverse circumstances needing to be resolved, doubts and fears needing to be conquered) seems like the right thing to do because the conscience is still defiled and is crying out for resolve, for substance, for completion. This is because faith has been geared to answer the cry of the defiled conscience, so when either an offense or an aspiration arises, the powers of the soul are called upon to serve the will to settle the conscience.

The heart, being thus misdirected to justify the defiled conscience, means trouble for faith. You’re not receiving substance from God to return to Him with the increase of Christ, so your faith stands alone: It isn’t joined to God, it’s been joined to the record of man to find support and completion from the spirit of this world.

You’ll find that ministers who use the scriptures to address the themes and issues of life capitalize the word “Scripture” to denote not its divine inspiration, but rather to declare the written text to be equal to God. They’ll hold up the Bible and say, “The Word (Scripture) and God are one. God will never lie.”

Let’s talk about this for a moment. All scripture is indeed inspired by God in that God directed and instructed holy men to pen the scriptures as a testament that God prepared for us in the genealogies, in the first covenant, in the patriarchs, in the tabernacle and temple, and in the prophets. Jesus fulfilled all that was written of Him and then provided a blueprint in Himself for our faith to be made living in Him (Luke 4:21).

After Jesus’ ascension into heaven God continued to assign holy men (apostles) to direct faith into His new covenant, lest the words written in the Bible were taken and redirected toward self. In the absence of apostolic stewardship people will always argue the precept and line because they drew it through their own record, holding up the Bible with one hand, while holding up the lie of their own record with the other. This is double mindedness, my friend. It’s not only double minded, its deceitful.

Your record is different from your neighbor. Your moral center differs, your aspirations and principles differ. Your signature skills are uniquely framed to yourself, and differ from your neighbor.

Satan complicated the gospel by introducing the multiplicities of the record of man and called this diversity of signatures God’s plan for you to know Him. But God simplified the gospel by introducing the one record of Jesus Christ, while supplying us daily with the diversity of His gifts of grace. The diversity of signatures is not the diversity of the gifts of God’s grace. The two are not the same. In this new apostolic age God is returning faith to the true gospel to Jesus Christ.” [End Quote]
